Broken Blood Vessels, Leg Veins, and Vascular Lesions

Broken blood vessels and redness/flushing of the face is one of the most common conditions that we treat here at the Bellevue Laser & Cosmetic Center. The V-beam laser is the gold standard for treating this type of problem. We are fortunate to have the newest generation of this device which is faster, more powerful, and results in less or no bruising compared with previous models. More than one treatment may be necessary to achieve the desired results, but the laser is extremely safe and results are impressive. Sometimes, redness and dilated blood vessels of the face may be a sign of rosacea and may benefit from additional medical therapy. During your consultation, our providers can help determine if you have rosacea.

Generally, any skin condition that is vascular (blood vessel-related) may respond to V-beam laser therapy. This includes cherry angiomas, Port Wine Stain birthmarks, broken blood vessels on the body, and sun damage on the neck and upper chest.

Leg veins can be classified as small, medium, or large in size. The type of treatment depends on the size of vessels that you have. Small and medium sized spider veins generally respond best to sclerotherapy. In a sclerotherapy session, a small needle is used to inject a sclerosing solution directly into the target veins. For bulging varicose veins on the surface, our providers may recommend ambulatory phlebectomy. This is an in-office surgical procedure that removes the unwanted vein through a tiny incision. For blood vessels that are “matted” or too small to inject, laser treatment such as V-beam laser may be utilized.

No matter what type of vascular condition is bothering you, the Bellevue Laser & Cosmetic Center can help you make them disappear. Call for your consultation today!
