How It Works

The Precision TX’s laser energy goes inside and underneath the skin to effectively melt fat, tighten and contract the skin, tighten the neck muscles, and stimulate collagen production. Our providers may also combine liposuction to easily remove unwanted fat deposits, further sculpting the affected area. For axillary hyperhidrosis, the laser energy can permanently ablate the unwanted sweat glands. This procedure is all performed in our providers’s offices under local anesthesia and mild oral pain medications in just an hour.

What Can I Expect?

After we determine if you are a good candidate, you will come in for a pre-op consultation. At that time, we will review all of your wound care instructions and give you prescriptions that are required for the treatment. These will include antibiotics, oral pain medication and a sedative. If you are receiving a neck and jowl treatment, you will also be required to order a special compression garment.

On the day of the Precision TX treatment, you will take your medications. Your skin will be cleansed and prepped to sterilize the area and a few small nicks will be made in the skin. A dilute local anesthetic will then be infused into the treatment area to numb the skin. Once your skin is numb, you shouldn’t feel any pain. The laser treatment will then be performed and if necessary, our providers will also use liposuction to remove any unwanted fatty deposits.

Afterwards, antibiotic ointment will be placed over the small nicks in the skin and a compression garment will be applied. The nicks will heal within a week and shouldn’t be noticeable. You will be required to have a driver bring you home and a responsible adult staying with you for the first night after the procedure. We recommend that you wear the compression garment for 3-7 days, depending on the treated area. You may experience soreness for a few days afterwards, but it is typically mild. There may be some bruising for about one week and swelling for about two weeks. Showering is permitted after 48 hours. Typically, you can return to work after 3 days, but strenuous exercise should be avoided for 2 weeks. Side effects may include temporary numbness of the treated area and a crooked smile due to transient “shock” and swelling around a nerve on the jawline.

For neck and jowls, you may see improvement immediately after the procedure, but this will become more noticeable once the swelling has subsided. The full effect of the procedure will not be appreciated for 4-6 months once the collagen has had time to remodel. For axillary hyperhidrosis, you should notice sweat reduction immediately.
